The place where Tesoc Hah made his design office is Itaewon Gyungridangil ‘the street that is rising’ in Seoul these days. It was the first design work after independence to decorate the interior of a 20-pyeom small office.

Scale Hexagon is not really unique in its form. Employees on each side have a hexagonal corner angle of 120 degrees, so they are properly separated from the person sitting next to them. Yet communication is very easy. I can raise the screen and talk to others. It is also good to talk face to face inside and outside the hexagon with the desk in between. In this office, spatial ‘positions’ and ‘classes’ are dismantled. Everyone from the CEO to the new employee works at the same desk. Even if you sit in any position, you feel that you are the center, and everyone feels the same.

Hexagon of scale shows that it is the expertise of the architect to create a new space with only the familiar technology or products. It’s all about using a common screen ‘architecturally’, so this office is indeed ‘architectural’. Putting six pillars in the office, it is also architecture.
